Four children to include three sons Kent Byers, II(Kristyn) of KCMO Brian Byers(Antwinette) of Overland Park, KS, and Ryan Byers, I (Keona) of Raytown, MO and one daughter Mika McConnell(David) of KCMO ten grandchildren to include Tyran, Jayden, Taylor, Kent III, Jazmin, Ryan II, Coby, Dymon, Chastity, and Antonio two great grandchildren A’Ziah and Camila four siblings to include two brothers Michael Byers(Tina) and Rick Byers both of KCMO and two sisters Rhonda McCray (Mike) of KCMO and Janice Eddy of KCK Mother-in-love Nina Walker of KCMO two sisters-in-love Patricia Beatty (Stan) Beatty of Lee’s Summit, MO & Celestine Walker of KCMO and one brother-in-love Arthur Walker of KCMO three lifetime friends who were more like brothers Kenneth Cunningham and Marshall Stephens both of KCMO and Donald Edwards of Las Vegas, NV and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Vera. ![]() ![]() His love for music and motorcycles led him to be an active member with the Zodiac’s M/C for over 30 years and would sometimes be the DJ for their club parties. He also made sure that he and Vera enjoyed their life together. Kent made sure to instill these same values in each of his children and grandchildren. He always believed in God and strong family bonds. Kent was blessed to have 10 grandchildren. To this union two children Brian and Ryan were born. Kent bought two children Kent II and Mika into this union with him. On FebruKent married Vera and they were married for 39 years. Kent was preceded into death by both of his parents Moses and Doris Byers and two brothers Willie Bell and Kevin Byers. After working over 25 years for KCP&L he retired due to health issues. During his tenure at KCP&L he also served as a Chief Union Steward with the Local 412 IBEW Union. A few years after graduating he began a career with KCP&L as a Control Operator. In 1973 he graduated from Southeast High School in Kansas City, MO and remained active with the Southeast Alumni. He grew up in Kansas City, MO and was raised in a God-fearing household with strong family values. He also had an older brother and sister that his father brought into the union with Kent’s mother. He was the first of five children born into this union. He was born on Jin Kansas City, KS to Moses and Doris Byers. Kent Arnold Byers, 65, transitioned to heaven on Jat Select Specialty Hospital in Kansas City, KS.
